R.H. St. John founded his famous St. John Kennels in 1939 first with the UKC registry, and later registering his Coonhounds with the American Kennel Club in the 1960's. He raised many litters of Black and Tan Coonhounds over several decades and developed an enormously successful breeding program producing such notables as Ch. St. John's Jubia, Ch. St. John's Ajchin and St. John's Betty Jean. Jubia has the distinction of being in the pedigree of every Black and Tan Coonhound ever awarded an All Breed Best in Show. |
