Xena's amazing journey started when she was awarded Best of Breed at the 1997 American Black & Tan Coonhound Club Regional Specialty at the young age of 17 months. During the next 3 years, she was awarded Best of Breed at the 1998 Regional Specialty, the 2000 National Specialty (with a record entry at the time of 70 coonhounds), and Best of Breed at Westminster 1999 and 2001. Xena is the top winning Black & Tan Coonhound in breed history with 25 Best in Shows, 115 Hound Group 1's and 145 other group placements. She was the #1 Black & Tan Coonhound in group competition for 1998, 1999, and 2000. The millennium brought yet another record when Xena finished the year by winning top honors in both All-Breed points and Breed competition. She has always met every challenge with confidence and a friendly attitude which is sure to carry on to the next level of her adventures with performance events.
