Melody started her career with Mr. Gord Frasier of Ontario, Canada and was shown by him to her Canadian Championship. In 1981 she was acquired by Neal and Ruth Emmons of Twinlakes Kennels, Medina, Ohio who campaigned her during her outstanding career in the United States under the expert guidance of her handler Mr. Jerry Rigden. With five all-breed Best in Shows, 30 Hound Group wins, and 74 Hound Group placements, Melody held the record for Black and Tan Coonhound bitches for many years. She was the first Black and Tan bitch to be awarded the coveted Best in Show. Whelped in Toronto, Ontario, Canada by Clare and Donna Lewis, she was the daughter of the first Best in Show Coonhound, Am/Can Ch. Codach's Lyrical Treeboy. |
