Lusty's remarkable career got off to a spectacular start when he had the distinction of being awarded Best of Breed at the 1979 National Specialty of the American Black and Tan Coonhound Club in Tucson, AZ. His record of 79 group placements stood until 1988. Lusty was the first Black and Tan Coonhound to travel the continent during his show career bringing national recognition to the breed. He is the grandsire of the all time record holder for the breed, Am/Can Ch. WyEast Why Not. He was campaigned throughout most of his illustrious career by his good friend and expert handler, Clyde Morris. Lusty was the best friend and devoted companion of his owner, Margo Sensenbrenner.
