Jonah was the number one Black and Tan Coonhound in 1979 and 1980 in total dogs defeated. He was also the first coonhound to receive the prestigious international championship award. Campaigned almost exclusively by his owner, LaVerne Anderson, Jonah was also a multiple Hound Group winner. Jonah also has the distinction of being the first Canine Chronicle award winner, which was established in 1979.
