Jim and Kathy Corbett, founding AB&TCC members, fell in love with Black and Tan Coonhounds in 1971 with the acquisition of their first female from Mr. Robert H St. John in Kentucky. “Moonshine” (CH St John’s Wy East Snoqualm CDX) was soon joined by CH Berghafen Cole Dust CD from Don and Jackie Iden in Michigan. Three other St John girls soon joined the household, and all subsequent breedings can be traced to that foundation.
The Corbett’s have enjoyed success in conformation and obedience, as well as on the bench and in the field. Their hounds were always owner handled; nearly 100 Champions earned, countless group placements including more than 150 Group Firsts and 20 All-Breed AKC Best In Shows.
They are Lifetime Members of the AB&TCC club and have 5 dogs inducted into the AB&TCC Conformation Hall of Fame. They are both past Presidents of the club and have also held numerous other positions. They have each dedicated over 50 years of membership to the AB&TCC.
They are now enjoying retirement after lives with hounds, two lovely daughters Beth and Christy, and fulltime careers in teaching and college administration.
