Sloopy was rescued from a rural county animal shelter at about 18 months of age. She began her agility career as a way for us to bond and to have fun together. She rapidly passed through the Novice, Open and Excellent levels due to her focus, solid performance, and her love of the game and cheeseball treats. She achieved the coveted Master Agility Champion (MACH) title in just over two years from her first AKC trial. Sloopy has been the Top Agility Black and Tan Coonhound since she entered the Masters level in 2012. In addition, she has been invited to the AKC Agility Invitational the last two years where she won Top Dog of the Black and Tan Coonhound breed both times. Sloopy is the first B&T Coonhound to represent the breed in the AKC Agility National Championship as well. While sometimes considered a “foreign body” in the agility world of herding breeds and Retrievers, Sloopy quickly won the hearts of even the most hardcore competitors. Her flair, athleticism and joy make her fun to watch. Her charm and carefree spirit makes her an outstanding ambassador for the breed both inside and outside the agility ring. |
