Roy from a puppy had a presence about him that just said look at me! He has always been above the top in exuberance and a fun loving guy. He was always a puppy, always a Character. No one was quite sure about his future until Shelley actually took him in the ring and won a Group 2 with him! After that, it was clear what he just might be good at. He loves the ring and with his presence he captured the enthusiasm of all those who watched him show. He was such a ham and had all the audience and handlers clapping for him. He has a special bond with Shea and the two of them were always awesome together. But he also has another quality. He was a great dog with his Junior Handler Christian Rutten. He could as easily go in the ring with Christian and win a Group 1. I will never forget Christian showing Roy at the Garden and taking him to the finals. Poor Roy came out of the breed ring and ran to the Group Ring for Christian. But he never stopped showing. He was happy in the ring with either Shea or Tiffany showing him and was happy to trot in with Christian too. Roy, with his over the top enthusiasm, he ability to love everyone, is a great ambassador for the breed, everywhere he goes. Roy took Best of Breed at Westminster and also at the Eukanuba Invitational. He has won 6 All-breed Best in Show wins, 3 Reserve Best in Show Wins and a 22 Group Firsts and 22 Group Seconds for a total of 65 Group Placements. Roy was #1 in both Breed and all Breed in 2013 and was also ranked in the Top 5 Hounds. |
