Molly was the product of a repeat breeding and as it turned out, was a one of one puppy. Lost in the woods
while on a training hunt one night, she remained "on the lam" for three months until an online ad found her
living with another coonhunter roughly eight miles from home. After this inauspicious beginning, she went
to her first dog show in Aug 2010 where she won the Puppy Group. Finishing her championship followed quickly
and in high style, losing the points only once and defeating specials several times along the way. Breeder-Owner-Handled throughout her specials career, Molly won multiple specialties including the Regional in 2013 and the National in 2014. She also won 68 group placements, including 25 Group Firsts and three All-Breed Bests in Show and four Reserve-Bests in Show. Along the way, we picked up 19 Owner-Handled Group Firsts and six Owner-Handled Bests in Show. All this was accomplished in a little over two years of campaigning as a part-time show dog and was due to the successful partnership between her owners, Robert Urban and Jack and Andrea McIlwaine. According to DOG NEWS magazine, Molly was the #2 Black and Tan Coonhound (All-Breeds) in 2013, with over 4,000 dogs defeated and the #1 Black and Tan Coonhound (All-Breed) for 2014, with over 5,000 dogs defeated. |
